A Renowned Plastic Surgeon in Fredericksburg
| r. Heppe was born in 1957 in Montclair, New Jersey, and his family moved to Fairfax, Virginia, in 1962. During high school, he competed on the gymnastics team and continued this sport during college. |
He received his bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Virginia and earned his medical degree there as well in 1983. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC, and a surgical residency and surgical internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
Thanks to Georgetown's strong emphasis on cosmetic surgery, he had the opportunity to train with outstanding leaders in plastic surgery. He also received artistic training, with regular classes in drawing and aesthetic analysis. In the early 1990s, Dr. Heppe was an instructor at Georgetown University Medical Center and at Howard University Medical Center in Washington.
Over the years, Dr. Heppe has traveled to Latin America several times on charity missions. He has given numerous presentations on plastic surgery topics at medical conferences throughout the United States and in Canada, and published several articles, as well. He stays abreast of new cosmetic surgery techniques by regularly attending national meetings.
Dr. Heppe is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Heppe joined Plastic Surgery Services of Fredericksburg in 1991, and has privileges at Mary Washington Hospital.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as traveling, playing, golf, tennis and skiing.
