He grew up in the suburbs of New York City where he eventually did his surgical training. He earned his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Bautista received his medical degree from New York Medical College in 1986.
He completed his residency in plastic surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Nassau County Medical Center in New York under the instruction of Long Island Plastic Surgery, Inc., the largest plastic surgery group in the United States. This 12-surgeon group provided Dr. Bautista with extensive experience in aesthetic surgery: breast enhancement, body contouring, and facial aesthetics. His general surgery residency was also completed at Nassau County Medical Center.
Dr. Bautista is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has recently proven his dedication to maintaining his knowledge base in his chosen specialty by passing a recertification exam given by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in April 2004.
He joined Plastic Surgery Services of Fredericksburg in 1993 and has privileges at Mary Washington Hospital. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a member of several local and national societies and associations. He also holds the highest rating, "instructor potential," in advanced cardiac life support.
Dr. Bautista participates in humanitarian missions held in third-world countries. In his spare time, Dr. Bautista enjoys playing tennis with his wife and two children. He also holds a black belt in karate.
Dr. Bautista's application for membership into the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery was accepted in May 2010.
